My View On The Timelines

Looking at our project and those of other groups there are many similarities and differences between them. From what I can see in every timeline, themes do not range far from within each other. In other words, for my group our theme was "An Uphill Climb of Persecution," and another theme was white supremacy. These two are similar because they both show the discrimination of all groups of people, before I explain any further I'd like to say that there are differences and similarities because since we have all been discriminated against in some way before its easier for us to connect to what we reading. Some similarities that I saw was that for every time period (i.e 1800s etc.) there was some talk about every immigrant group. One that mostly stood out to me were the Native Americans, similar to Atoy's blog I only believed that this group of people only fought for their tribe, culture, and people in general. However, when I was reading about the Natives during WWII, even though they were forced to, was something that I never heard of/ knew before reading those articles. The differences I see is not because something wasn't as important, quite frankly I believe that are all important, but some other groups emphasize more on other topics because they can relate to more or have a personal connection with it. Some questions that I ask myself is how come I didn't even realize that people like Asians weren't even allowed in this country, or how some of these events are in our history textbooks. It came to me as Mr. Cassidy spoke about it more that people decide what's important and what we read. In conclusion most information was similar but was expressed in different ways through their respective themes.
