In the article we read about how social class can determine how a student acts in college and the effects on their after life it has. Higher class students and lower class students approach college completely different than one another. Children from higher class families tend to go to college just for the experience and party out all night and not take their classes seriously. Children from lower class families tend not to party out as much and tend to focus on academics first because of many reasons. A lot of students from lower class families are the first in their generation to go to college, they can barely afford college, and their lives aren't written out for them. After they graduate college they actually have to get that first job, they don't automatically have a job. Since people of lower class had to work for their scholarships if they have one they don't want to risk anything. Higher class students have everything written out for them basically and can live stress free lives.
Lower class students have to take out loans to pay for college if they don't get a scholarship. Which puts them back in debt after college and their social status doesn't change and possibly gets worse over time. So the social status of these people doesn't change and it only makes their college experience harder and more troubling than what it needs to be. While on the other hand these higher class families don't have to take out student loans and can pay for school without loans, so they remain on top in terms of financial status.
